Given to the rise of cable and DSL, is ISDN still used by homes or offices?

I know at my job we use ISDN lines for video conferencing.

Especially since many people use one BRI channel for Internet, and the other for telephone, ISDN will be around for some time. Eventually it will fade out... .. .

ISDN will still be around for quite a while as there are still a lot of place where you can't get either DSL nor Cable.

Additionally it is often used for backup lines when a leased one goes down.

If a CO is provided for ISDN couldn't the same CO be used for DSL technology?

    No.

Running DSL requires that the lines attenuation does not exceed specified limits. If the line is too long (the CO is too far away from the PoP) you simply cannot run DSL.
