advice: real devices for practising with switches
joemendola
Hi people, i would love to receive a suggestion on what physical devices i should buy, in order to practise with switching.
Im studying for jncia and i have only one physical device, a srx-100b and of course olive.
I would love to study switches so i need a suggestion on what models of switches i have to buy on ebay.
thanks in advance
joe

The srx100 does have some switching capabilities, and I'm guessing it'll be enough for the JNCIA-JUNOS certification. If you're going to pick up some switches off of ebay, I'd recommend going for the cheapest, since they'll have pretty much the same features as the more expensive ones. One feature that I know you'll miss out on with the smaller EX switches is the ability to form a virtual chassis. So the smallest EX is going to be the EX2200 line, and I'd recommend going for the EX-2200-c.
Good luck with your studies.
