So my company has a Microsoft Select agreement which we license products we use under, but the polotics at the company are INSANE and I can't get anyone to send me an updated SQL 2005 ISO that I need, my question is this.
If I buy a technet subscription and download the ISO from the technet site, can I use that install file, with our legitimate key to install this product, would this work and be legal?

You can download it yourself from any VLSC or Technet portal, but you would need access.
Personally, I wouldn't do it that way. I would tell my boss I cannot complete the task because I don't have the access I need. I don't know about you, but I didn't get in this line of work to fight silly battles like that or take extraordinary steps to work around them. I certainly wouldn't buy a Technet subscription just to get media. -
