So I'm looking at picking up a 2620 series router and a 2900 switch to interface with my large GNS3 topologies and make it a bit easier for them to access both LAN and internet resources. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with ethernet rollover cables?
Since I have a modern PC I don't have a DB9 port and don't particularily want to pay $20 to get an adapter that I'll use a few times a decade at most. Would these rollover ethernet cables work with a 2600 router, or any cisco router?
Thanks!
This is the cable I'm looking at:
Amazon.com: StarTech.com 6-Feet Cisco Console Rollover Cable - RJ45 Ethernet M/M (ROLLOVERMM6): Electronics

I bought this and it's worked great with both of my PCs. Only complaint is it doesn't allow the connectors to screw together on the serial side, but just be careful or tape it and you'll be good -
