What 3 things do you need to get better at?
I'm just curious to see what all the members feel they need to improve on.
For me it would be
High level
Thinking more big data - Learning the environment data roadmap more and more. This is first and foremost.
Excel - This is a killer I really need to improve my VBA skills tremendously. I'm a solid 6 - 7 on a scale 1 - 10 and I need to be more like a 7 or 8.
SQL - Powershell This is one 3a 3b
How about you?

- Work on my presentation skills
- Work on my people skills (especially with new customers)
- Learn to work effectively (not efficiently!) in home-officeWorking on CCNP: [X] SWITCH --- [ ] ROUTE --- [ ] TSHOOT

Honestly I really don't know. its such a big field IT and my job means I am always having to pick up new skills. if I had to pick three they would be
Project management.
Continue developing my network skills
VoIP
but thankful I am not stagnant with any of these and my skills are developing nicely.- If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. Albert Einstein

Hypntick Member Posts: 1,451 ■■■■■■□□□□1. Scripting, i've got a basic understanding of some of it, but could certainly improve.
2. Like others on this list, Linux. I don't do enough with it at work or at home, but it's a skill I think is valuable.
3. Salesmanship, not in the sense of "Buy this product or service", but being able to sell an idea to management. For example "I have X process we should implement, here is why", i'm not very good at being able to verbalize the value of things like that.
Edit: Damn fine question by the way, really got me thinking.WGU BS:IT Completed June 30th 2012.

Iristheangel Mod Posts: 4,133 ModMy interests are in network so I'll just list off three things I'd like to improve on:
1) VoIP - Hate it and hate studying for it but the reality is that I should learn more
2) Wireless - I need to get my hands on WLCs and start practicing
3) Advanced firewall skills -
biggene Member Posts: 153 ■■■■□□□□□□Just starting a new job, I have a ton of stuff to learn, but I have already been told that the way to get noticed and move up the ladder quickly is documentation. My lead is working on putting together a new sharepoint site with an included knowledge base, so I want to help out with that. I also found out that we are migrating our entire 15,000 + user base to Windows 7 from XP, and working second shift I will more than likely have plenty of extra time to get involved in that, so labbing 7 deployment too.
1.Documentation
2.Sharepoint 2010

I am upgrading and standardizing our current Storage and Virtualization environments. I just performed an ESX and VM migration and though I was successful at doing such. I realize that there is so much more I need to learn in those respective worlds.
After reading fellow posts I see virtualization and storage are hot topics. -
