Cisco Wireless APs

I've been thinking about picking up a Cisco WAP on eBay to learn about how they work and are configured. Would something like the Aironet 1000 be fine? Do certain ones only work with a Wireless Controller or can they all be configured to work independently?

Also, the IOS after upgrade on these devices have all what you need to prepare for the CCNA wireless etc. plus they have all the security features needed built-in.

It's also nice to get the Wireless controller, make sure they sell you the 48VDC power adapter with that piece, otherwise they are pricey to buy separate.A+
