Exam update?

Anyone know when the exam will be updating? I just finished Security+ and I wanted to move on to CCNA. I plan to take the exam next september. I wanted to buy a couple routers and switches and actually do the CCNA labs.

Also, I'll probably scrummage around this forum category to find some books to buy, but if you guys want to recommend something to me, feel free.

My past experience with studying is Network+ and Security+.

They wont update it for awhile I dont think. You have time to study and take it.
The Sybex 5th edition book is great, except it falls short in the NAT area. So you will want to get probly the Cisco Press book aswell to cover that area.

CCNA: Cisco Certified Network Associate Study Guide, 5th Edition (640-801) by Todd Lammle

CCNA Certification Library (CCNA Self-Study, exam #640-801) by Wendell Odom

Those are the books that I used, and they seemed to work pretty well considering that the test seemed fairly easy to me. I also had 41 mins left at the end.
You should get both books, because they lack on some topics, but the other will cover it.

Awesome, that's what I had sitting in my shopping cart. I just wanted you to verify that Wendell book. Ordering now. Thanks.

EDIT: You think it's best to do labs while studying or doing labs after finish studying?

I would say do them as you study. Once you read about RIP, do a lab on it. Then when you get to VLANs, do a lab on it. And so on.
Just don't try and do a lab on something that you have not covered, but you want as much experience with the equipment or a sim as you can get.
