IT College Career Studies Certifications worth it?

I wanted to know what people thought about College IT Career Studies Certifications and if they are worth getting? I'm currently seeking my IT Associates and my community college offers different IT career study certificates in Network Administration, Network Enterprise Administrator - Windows 2008, Network Infrastructure Specialist (CISCO) and Network Security that you can also get and I wanted to know if they are worth getting as well? I know other colleges offer similar career certs and I wanted to know if they could help further a career?
