Pulling Cable at Home, Do I Need Conduit?

olaHaloolaHalo Member Posts: 748 ■■■■□□□□□□
Anybody pull there own cable for their home LAN?
Im planning on doing it and was wondering if you thought conduit was necessary.
I noticed my phone lines are not protected and the coax isnt either. So I am assuming that conduit will be overkill for a home run.
Thanks

Overkill in my opinion, I ran Cat6 throughout my house to various rooms and ran it through the attic. Its been over a year and everything is still running like normal.

Definitely not worth the effort. If you are worried about EMI, use shielded or fiber. They aren't that much more expensive compared to the hassle of conduit.

Hah! Have fun. I wish I could pull for my condo. Alas I'd have to do it with conduit on the outside of the building. Screw that. Seriously though, OM3 you can gt for like $370 for 1000 feet. Really depends on how long you're staying.
