Skillport for CCNA

Anyone try it? I got a free membership from a recruiting firm. I'm currently studying with Odom's book and going to buying Boson Exams and Network simulator. I wasn't sure if anyone had experience with Skillport. It's free but I don't want to waste my time watching videos that conflict with my other resources.

    Hey Boxer,

I have access to skillport through work and have gone through a few of the training programs. I especially enjoy that there is a recording of someone speaking what you are reading when you flip through the slides or pages of the training. That way you retain information from reading as well as, from listening to someone read it. Like with all training however, they might come from a different angle, include, or not include certain details or training information, so it's always good to have multiple training sources like it looks like you are going for.

On the same note, I do enjoy training from Chris Bryant. He has his CCNA videos and others on "udemy". Last time I checked all CCNA videos were $44. He gives great instruction as well as provides cost effective learning videos and NO, this is not an advertisement, I just respect the guy and his training.

    Good luck,

    Steve

My take on them has been very similar. I found them while searching for a quality video tutorial series on general networking and at $44 they seemed like a steal even before I had considered going for the CCNA. I only bought them to absorb the overall knowledge. Now that I'm committing to going down the path of certifications, I need to look for additional perspectives beyond the basic books. I'll take a look at the skillport stuff too, that sounds like a useful memory reinforcement.

Thanks, everyone! I appreciate the replies. I will definitely watch them over the next couple of weeks as I get ready for the CCENT.

Sort of off-topic, but I thought the Odom book included exams and their Network Simulator in the CD-ROM in the back cover?

That's the lite version of it. Sort of trial or cutoff version with very limited functionality.
