Frustrating WOL problem
Hello all,
Can anybody give me advice on trying to get my WOL to work? The problem is that the NIC turns off on standby, so it can't receive the signal, even though I disable 'turn off this device to save power'.
An interesting fact is that the feature sometimes re-enables itself without my involvement.
When I wake the computer up manually, it says 'Local Area Connection is now connected', so I can determine that the NIC definitely shuts off on sleep.
Another interesting fact is that this old Windows 2000 computer of mine was able to WOL before, but now it suddenly can't. Do these symptoms ring any bells?
I know this may have something to do with BIOS, but are there any other possible reasons?
Any advice would be great
thanks

Been searching high and low[h=2]"After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing, after all, as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true." Spock[/h]
