How to Accelerate Streamed Videos?

DoubleNNsDoubleNNs Member Posts: 2,015 ■■■■■□□□□□
While studying for my CompTIA trio I really enjoyed using VLC player and to stream the professermesser.com youtube videos and play them in accelerated speeds. Topics I was new to, I'd play in 1.5x-1.65x. Topics I was fairly confident in but wanted to listen to for review I'd play in as fast as 2.75x.

I'm planning on starting on the Cisco track now however. Does anyone know ways to accelerate streamed videos on sites such as train signal, CBT nuggets, or INE.com?

Is there a way to get the URL for these videos and play them thru VLC player if I have access to them? I have a Nexus 10 in addition to my Macbook Air - does anyone know how to do something similar on an Android device?

(I think I read somewhere that train signal allows you to download DRM versions of their videos that can be played on players of your choice?)

CBT nuggets has this option build into their player. Else, you might want to pick up a video downloader. The tool will download the video to your computer, then you can play it at whatever speed you would like. (use to do this for YouTube and would take my laptop to work. We could have computers, but not internet.)
