PTP Support for VMPlayer Running on a Linux Host
paul78
I use a Linux host that runs kernel 3.8.1 with VMplayer 5.0.2.
I was wondering if anyone has ever gotten a camera that only supports Picture Transfer Protocol via USB to work as a device in a guest OS. My host OS detects the camera as a USB device and so does VMPlayer but I can't get VMPlayer to connect the device to the guest OS.
VMPlayer reports an error "The connection for the USB device "NIKON S3100-PTP" was unsuccessful.
The camera doesn't have a setting to be used as a USB mass storage device.
Any tips or links appreciated.
