I'm looking for some advice. I'm helping a friend by moving from a his current web host a another.

Have any of you had any advice on migrating from a site managed by CPanel to a new server with Apache?

Have you had any luck with web hosting on BlueHost (Web Hosting, Domain Names, eCommerce - Bluehost.com) as thats what I'm leaning towards unless im able to migrate the site from CPanel. **Note that I currently have a full backup of my CPanel site including the databases and files.

you using a home made web page or wordpress/joomla/CMS ?
If a CMS, there are back up plugins or native included in the CMS.
For the DB, try phpmyadmin or something like that.
    Bluehost has that
Or phpmyadmin, and backup the folder through ftp then restore in the new host

Your current host doesnt have DB backup?
Do a db backup usually saves to something like .zip or .sql.zip or something
and restore in new website + restor the ftp folder backup.

Bluehost is my #1 recommendation for small business or sites without much CPU/processing demand.
Bandwith=\= processing (although they can be related).
bluehost is great for personal websites or small business websites.
If you expect to be running CPU heavy things on your website I recommend using VPS or shared grid or something.
    meh
