in CCNA & CCENT
About to take and pass my network+ exam in a couple weeks. Not cocky, just confident in myself.
I want to build a lab and start prepping to dive into CCNA and give it a couple months of solid study and labbing
Would you guys reccomend studying for the 640-802? or the new 200-120 ?
Considering I have very little cisco knowledge and i've only had one class to get my feet wet with configuring and what not, I was thinking since I'm going to be starting from scratch should I just learn whats going to be the newest?
Or take the (from what i've been reading) easier 640-802 and just learn the new stuff on the job?

Chris Bryant... his pdf books and his classes on Udemy are useful. https://www.udemy.com/courses/search?q=chris%20bryant
CBT Nuggets with Jeremy Cioara ... great series CBT Nuggets Certification Packages

Last but not least... the Cisco NetAcademy... I went through all 4 classes at a local community college and without these classes... for me... I would not have passed the exam. So... if you can or are willing... I would recommend taking the classes if they are offered in your area.
Packet Tracer through the Cisco NetAcademy is very useful. If you do not have access... then GNS3 is another great tool. Some people use the Boson products as well. I've not given them a try... can't comment.
Hope this helps and best of luck.

JeanM Member Posts: 1,117If you are just starting out, no sense is going with the old test as you only have until September to finish both tests. Otherwise they both cover a lot of the same material, the missing stuff in the 640-802 like syslog stuff and traps is something you would learn anyway or probably know if you deal with networking so it's not really a HUGE difference between the two tests overall.2015 goals - ccna voice / vmware vcp.
