Multicast between routed VLANs
Hey guys,
I have a question regarding multicast on EX. I have a mixed-mode VC (4500s and 4200s), and I am facing some odd problems. VLAN A has two hosts and VLAN B has 40 hosts. Both VLANs are connected to the VC. I am copying files from VLAN A using uftp to VLAN B. The problem is that servers that are not being copied to on VLAN B are still seeing excessive amounts of traffic on their interfaces during the copy process.
Currently I have only igmp snooping configured, and I assume that I would have to do some static configuring and perhaps PIM as well in order to limit the flooding?
Regards,
Fin
