Looking at the reviews on Amazon, it already seems a bit dated. And you just want to read selected chapters and take the test. As much as I hate to read, I am forcing myself to read the Linux books geared toward certification.

Just consider the "... for dummies" book as not pertaining to cert that you are pursuing. It just can't be used as a prep material.
