Hello all,
I'm taking my first steps into the Cisco certification world and am looking at building a home lab. I wanted to pick up a couple of 3550 switches and in my reading so far about equipment for home labs, it seems I should be looking at IOS 12.4 at least. I know the 3550s can run that, but when looking for used equipment on EBay, I see most are running 12.1-12.3. I don't think I've seen any running 12.4.
My question is, is it possible to get 3550 switches running 12.4? Or do I need to buy a switch running a previous version and then upgrade? Is that even possible? Do you need a support contract with Cisco to download IOS upgrades?
Thanks for any help you can provide!
