in CCNA & CCENT
For anyone that has passed the ccent, did you write down anything in the exam to help you memorise?
e.g port numbers etc just so if the question came up you would have it straight away. Anything else that would come in useful?
Thanks

DoubleNNs Member Posts: 2,015 ■■■■■□□□□□I'm still studying for my CCENT, but although I can do subnetting fairly quickly, I find it much quicker when I create a table before going thru the problems. I've pretty much memorized all the combos of class C nets, but not for class A or B so charts help me get thru the math for those.
When I take my CCENT, I plan to write something similar on the white board they give me prior to starting.Goals for 2018:
Certs: RHCSA, LFCS: Ubuntu, CNCF CKA, CNCF CKAD | AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect Pro, AWS Certified Security Specialist, GCP Professional Cloud Architect
Learn: Terraform, Kubernetes, Prometheus & Golang | Improve: Docker, Python Programming

and also writing down 128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1 magic number
128 192 224 240 248 252 254 255
and the 2^2 .....through 2^12
couldn't get chart to line up“The Only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it keep looking. Don't settle” - Steve Jobs -

I was going to make a quick subnetting chart, but once the first question came up, it was a multiple choice that I knew the answer to and I just started answering the questions and never really got around to making the chart. I passed with a ~914. I did all my subnetting on my fingers (count off 128, 192, 224, 240, 248, 252, 254, 255 for netmask and 128, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1 for increment) or from memory (.0, .240, .252, and .255)R&S: CCENT → CCNA → CCNP → CCIE [ ]

That's correct, before you enter the exam room you agree to the terms that you won't write anything down prior to the exam starting. It is written on the form you sign when you report to the testing centre.
After the first question, I quickly wrote down the masks and the 128 -> 1 bit values for increments but found that i didn't need them, nor the two pages i was given and as such didnt bother to use them...
