Just received my CCNA and now I want to move onto Microsoft!
What is the best path to follow? Should I work on 2008 or jump right into 2012? I love CBTNuggets so I'll probably get those but I'm looking for reading material as well. What do you guys use?

I would not spend anytime on the 2008 material, unless you have a requirement for it with your job or something. I spent a good deal of time last year studying the 2008 material and taking some tests and I did not like the exams or materials...I've only been studying the 2012 stuff for about a month now but from what I can the the test objectives are more thought out and grouped together and the material seems to just make more sense...obviously I wont know for sure until I take my first test, but those are my thoughts as of now

DoubleNNs Member Posts: 2,015 ■■■■■□□□□□I'm wondering the same thing. I already have 1 Server 2008 study book so was wondering whether I should hurry up and try to pass the MCSA:2008 before the Jan 31st, 2014 deadline, or just call the book I bought a loss and jump right into server 2012.Goals for 2018:
Certs: RHCSA, LFCS: Ubuntu, CNCF CKA, CNCF CKAD | AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect Pro, AWS Certified Security Specialist, GCP Professional Cloud Architect
Learn: Terraform, Kubernetes, Prometheus & Golang | Improve: Docker, Python Programming
To-do | In Progress | Completed -

I don't have any requirements for my job but we do use 2008 R2. With my current position I don't get to play with the servers all that much and I don't see anytime in the near future.
I think I'm just going for the 2012 version and learn as much powershell as I can on the way. -
