Linkrunner pro alternative/software

So in my old position I had access to a Fluke Linkrunner network mutlimeter that made knowing what ports I was connected to SO EASY. Is there a program that I can install on my laptop that would give me the same functionality. It been hard trying to convince my manger to pony up for a device like that since we dont do much networking but when we do it always fall in my lap.
