CISM/CISA experience verification process

Hi all CISA/CISM holders,

I wanted to know what is the process used by ISACA to verify the years of experience?
I have gone through the form and have a doubt with my situation:
-In total I have 2.5+ yrs of experience in information security management systems, internal auditing, risk assessments and other compliance related activities
-I work as a self employed contractor in various companies in the UK and other EU countries. So I am confused how this experience will be verified.
