SkyDrive to be renamed after M$ loses case to UK brand
SkyDrive to be renamed after Microsoft loses naming court case
First it was Hotmail to Outlook, then it was the "Metro" to "Modern UI" and now SkyDrive to ???
What else could they name it? I liked the SkyDrive name...too bad they had to steal it.

tpatt100 Member Posts: 2,991 ■■■■■■■■■□I think Microsoft should just name stuff with "Microsoft" first and then a generic name afterwards. It's not like people are going to see "Skydrive" and go "oh wow I need to get that". I mean even Google named theirs "Google Drive".

Really???
Are people really that stupid? That's like saying Ford taking party planners to court because of the term "fiesta".
Just do a search for Skydrive on the internet, it's branded Microsoft all over. -

I'm surprised Microsoft couldn't work out a licensing deal. I have trouble believing they couldn't find mutually agreeable terms that cost less than rebranding, which I think will be disastrous for adoption. It's already an uphill battle against established competitors (Google, Apple, Dropbox), and rebranding anytime in the near future is going to be extremely painful.
