SkillSetsOnline Network+

My current work place is payinf for me to take a few classes through skillsetsonline. I was looking at the CompTIA side of the program. It shows CompTIA Network+ 2009 Part A CompTIA Network+ 2009 Part B. But below that it also shows CompTIA Network+ 2012 Part A and CompTIA Network+ 2012 Part B. I can only take so many classes... but I was wondering if there is a reason to take all 4 of these? Or is the 2012 parts A and B the most current Network+ test.

Thanks!

Hi n3kko, go for the 2012 version, it's the up to date one.

    Best of luck icon_smile.gif

Thanks! I just did not know if I need to also take the 2009 courses to help me pass the 2012. Wasn't sure if there was info I need to pass the 2012 n+ that is in the 2009 n+ class.

I echo CDRichards. I'm not familiar with the names that skillsetsonline is using, but I'm betting that the 2009 courses are for the N10-004 exam (which is no longer available) and the 2012 courses are for the N10-005 exam (which is the current exam).

    Good luck.

I passed the 2012 Network+ last week and that's the current one. I believe, but could be wrong, that CompTIA update their courses every 3 years to keep them up to date and I guess there's a crossover period for people who have already started studying for the older one.

Hi n3kko, yeah, the 2009 is the N10-004 version which is not the latest offering by CompTIA. I can only assume the 2012 would be the N10-005 which is the up to date one. Let me give you a link for the Network+ page on the CompTIA website.
