Question about home folder
Silly question but my co-worker and I have a small discussion about home folders and moving them to other server without copying the files over.
Basically I say we have to copy them over the new server before we change the users home folder re-direction.
He says we can change the home folder and everything will just copy over to the new path by itself.
What do you guys think? Is he right or wrong? Its driving us nuts and he actually just did that and it seems to not of worked but he said it worked somewhere else....

Copy files to the new location, updated redirection link and it should be good after that assuming permissions stay the same. -
