Will studying for the 640-822 hurt in taking the 100-101?

I'm comparing the exam objectives for both and while they are there is a difference, I am wondering if someone who fully understands the material from the 640-822 exam can pass the 100-101 without having to purchase new material?

100-101 covers a number of topics from 640-816 in addition to most of the topics from 640-822. You might be able to pass by studying for the full CCNA (640-822 + 640-816 or 640-802), but not just the old CCENT (640-822). FWIW, 100-101 no longer includes Wireless or RIP, so you could omit those topics from your studies. You would probably need to supplement with some material on IPv6.

Thank you for this information. I have been studying for the 822, I am hoping to pass it on my first go around but if I do not I wanted to know how to adjust my studying. Thank you.

Basically, if you don't pass 822 by the deadline, you would need to take 100-101. 100-101 is comparable to 640-802, which is the current Composite CCNA with a few additions and deletions.

i think you should go for the new ccna exam (200-120), its easier in my opinion, and you learn about IPV6
