If I read through the CCNA 6th edition book by Todd Lammle as a primary source of studying for the CCNA wouId I be missing out on a significant amount of info for the exam or will I be still good to pass the exam?

I have both. I am using Lammle's 6th edition CCNA book and Odom's 3rd edition ICND2 book. Odom's has a bit more depth in my opinion but it's also harder to read due to the amount of detail. However since I haven't taken the exam, I don't know if that depth makes the difference. I would see if you can get your hands on maybe a PDF just in case. In the mean time, use the notes in this TE thread, I believe they summarize Odom: http://www.techexams.net/forums/ccna-ccent/90707-icnd2-notes.html

His 6th Edition will help out. In October, Cisco will no longer offer the exam that book covers as they are changing the CCNA exam objectives. It will still have much of the information you need, but not all of it.
