Not sure where to put this, need to understand how ports work
Since my ISP blocks port 25, if i open up another port such as 587 for smtp, will i still be able to send or receive? Does it matter which port number is being used? i've done a port test to make sure its not being blocked on my firewall and router, it is open,
i was able to telnet to it, it says 220 exchange1.davebeiler.local microsoft esmtp mail service ready at tue, 13 aug 2013 and i've changed it on the exchange side, however i'm not able to receive any email from the outside network
Firewall is also turned off temporarily on my exchange box until i get this working, will remove this information once i can get some assistance
