Passed CISSP

Hello Everyone,

I'm a long time lurker, first time poster.
I passed my CISSP exam recently.
It took me just under 5 hours with two breaks.
I used process of elimination and tried answering questions as a manager.
I flagged a lot of questions but only reviewed three questions before submitting my answers.
I did this because I started to change my answers during the review.
Instead I decided to trust my initial judgement that I chose the right answers.

Study Material:

CISSP Study Guide - Eric Conrad - read twice, practice tests.
Eleventh Hour CISSP: Study Guide - Eric Conrad - read once
CISSP Exam Cram - Michael Gregg - good book for figuring out your weak domains.

Before Exam:
Skimmed over CISSP Study Guide and did practice tests.
For some reason it felt like Eleventh Hour was missing some topics.
Study Guide Website 250 + 250 question exam tests.
Michael Overly study notes.

Food:
Coconut Water
Dark Chocolate
Banana

Other Study Material:
I tried Shon Harris AIO but found myself loosing concentration and interest in studying.
I think there's too much fluff, side tracking from main topics and too many corny jokes.
If you have problems concentrating I would suggest staying away from this book.

Cheers and good luck

I totally agree about Shon Harris book, hard to use if you get distracted easily.

Whats the Michael overly study notes?

Congratulations and thanks for the review! icon_cheers.gif

With books that are hard to read, I use a hi-lighter to pick out the relevant facts and factoids on the first pass and copy all of the hi-lights to my notes on the second pass. The book stays on the shelf after all that.

    Thanks everyone.

da_vato: Take a look at CISSP Exam Holistic Preparation & Overview https://www.cccure.org/flash/intro/player.html Part 62.

JDMurray: That's a good idea. I should start doing that.

Good luck to anyone still studying.

It was a lot of work but definitely worth it.

Congrats! This should pay up pretty well.
Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. My crime is that of judging people by what they say and think, not what they look like. My crime is that of outsmarting you, something that you will never forgive me for.
