I just have a few questions. What are the pre-requisites for taking the exam, if any? What are requirements to maintain the certification. Do I have to renew the certificate every few years? And what are some good books to study? I know there are probably plenty of other threads I could search through, but this is just a right before bed... buy the book in the morning kind of thread. Thanks for the time. You guys are great!

No you do not have to renew the certification. You can choose to take the latest release
A recommended book is the one from liz gallacher.

Pass the ITIL V3 Foundation exam in six easy and (almost) free steps | The IT Skeptic
I used ThoughtRock and found it to be a good value because of the training notes (not the vids) and the practice tests.
Good luck!2017 Goals:

crashblast Member Posts: 11 ■□□□□□□□□□Has anyone used ThoughtRock or Mountain View? If so, what did you think of the study material, the exam process, and did you get a paper certificate?
I am trying to compare the two but I can't seem to get a list of what is provided with the Mountain View offer.whatthehell wrote: »This was a good resource for me:
