Is there a possibility to run CHKDSK while in Windows XP Professional, because it won't run on a restart of my system ?

You can't run CHKDSK while running windows because the disk C: is mounted.

Use an XP boot disc. Boot to the disc and select r for recovery, then choose the Windows installation would you like to log onto (typically you just press 1 and then Enter.) It will prompt for an admin password, enter the password if you do not have an admin password leave it blank and hit enter.

Now, while in the CLI, you can run the command CHKDSK C: /r /f

What is the reason you are running a CHKDSK?
