Should I get a degree or certification?

Hello all, I am new here.

I want to start school and get some type of career going for me. I am thinking broadband tech or networking. What would be better a certification or degree?

Another thing, how does one get experience as a new comer? Jobs state 1-3 years experience ect.. but if none hire you when you are just starting how can you obtain the experience?

If someone could lead me down the right road, I would be grateful as at this point I am lost.

Likely you will have to start out at a very low pay and get experience. Getting an A+ and Net+ would likely open some doors and count towards some of the experience.
