I have been looking for a job in the LA (los angeles) area for about 5 months now. Anyone know of any jobs in the area. I have 7 years experience as a computer tech and about 3 years as system/network admin. I'm looking for a helpdesk specialist, admin, network...type of job, any help will be greatly appreciated :)

Do you have any certs? Like A+, MCP, MCDST etc etc. If you dont, you should atleast get any entry level cert and keep on looking.
    What next?

I dont have any certs just a B.S. degree in Electrical and computer engineering. After I get some experience in the networking field I would like to go into network security. So what would be some good certs to get.

If you want the security field Security + from Comptia is generally a good place to start.

Might be an idea to just get MCP first maybe the XP (70-270) exam to help get your foot in the door, you could move on from there and work up to MCSA + security with the comptia exam.

hope this helps and good luck

What the distance you are willing to travel? Looking on monster.com, dice.com, and a few other job boards show a lot of IT positions over here in Orange County. Things are starting to boom again in the Irvine Spectrum area in South OC.
