LCP timeouts

Hi Guys,
Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction.
Im having an issue with an intermittent connection, On the times that PPP doesn't connect the LCP is timing out. Now the physical cabling has been checked 2 or 3 times by BT engineers and all THEY are saying is its ok. Was wondering if you guys can point me to anywhere in the router where i can check configuration which can cause these timeouts? I appreciate the timeouts could be because of mis matching attributes, but i thought id get a CONFNAK for that, im not im just getting timeouts. Is there anything in the router that can bee seen?
