Have you tried looking at the guide for you device to see the capabilities?

I see you found the answer. But, in case anyone else was wondering...my understanding is that Aux is a second console port intended for dial-up access. You would normally connect an external modem to the Aux port and then you can dial into the modem and access the CLI. I do remember seeing a Cisco Router at least once with an external modem connected to the Console [rather than Aux] port. So, that would seem to suggest the two are interchangeable.
