HELP PLEASE! trying to connect 2 1760 routers via WID 1DSU T1 cards

....and having no luck
i'm trying to do the most basic setup ever and i've triple checked the cables. can't get either router to ping each other for the life of me. definitely set a clock rate on the right end, but i think it has something to do with the cards themselves - what kind of setup is there on these and what troubleshooting is there? i bought them off ebay months ago and have never been able to get them to connect.

is it possible to connect them with a regular crossover cable between them?

You need a crossover T1 cable. You can find the pin-out with a quick Google images search, and if you have the tools make one yourself. Otherwise you're going to have to order one off of Monoprice or somewhere.

Its always fun trying to explain this over the phone to a not so savvy field tech. I'm not putting FST's down, I used to be one. icon_smile.gif

Also, the clock rate on a T1 is configured slightly different:

    DCE(config-if)#service-module t1 clock source internal
    DCE(config-if)#service-module t1 timeslots 1-24

    DTE(config-if)#service-module t1 clock source line
    DTE(config-if)#service-module t1 timeslots 1-24

Personally, I think its a shame that Cisco insists on living in the past by testing on Serial Cable (WIC-1T, etc...) configuration instead of T1 (WIC-1DSU-T1, etc...), which along with Ethernet are the two most predominant WAN connections right now.

Made like 7 of these cables when I first created my lab. The satisfaction afterwards was un-rivaled!
