Recommendations for blogger resources?

I've been blogging with Google Blogger for some time now.
I'm wanting to begin to spruce up the blog better, say by trying to format some of my links on the right hand side, instead of using Google's widgets, which don't look that great, IMO.
I've looked at a few websites, and either they are fronts for scummy SEO or there isn't enough traffic on the website to warrant the time.
Does anyone have any solid recommendations for blogger forums/websites?
