Suppress Windows 7 Notifications During Full Screen Playback

The title pretty much says it all. I would like to use HPC-HC to play full screen media to my 55" TV and would like to disable notifications during playback. I would also like to avoid "Exclusive" mode if possible. Any other tips and tricks for using Windows 7 on a big screen would also be helpful. I currently have the text set to 150% which does help, but some apps don't change and others have words run out of the windows.
