wpa2 question
grasshopper10
Hi I recently came across a question which asked to chose between, WPA2 ccmp, WPA2_tkip, and WEP for a WiFi network. At the time I had only read about WPA2_ AES, and WPA_ tkip and WEP. I have read on the internet that CCMP is part of AES. Is this true? Therefore in my previous studies I belived WPA2 _ AES to be the best choice however that was not one of the given choices. Could some one clarify which order from best to the least preferred of these security options and if CCMP is part of AES and therefore was the correct answer.
Thank you.

In simple terms CCMP is part of the AES encryption. "AES cipher suite uses the Counter-Mode Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) Message Authentication Code (MAC) Protocol (CCMP)" So WPA2-CCMP is WPA2-AES just a different way of labeling it.

Thank you for confirming that.
