You need to only use an index made from the book that you have. The SANS course books are revised at least once or twice a year, and the page numbers shift around as material is added/changed/removed. An index made from a different revision of the same books you have would be nearly useless to you regardless of how detailed it is.
Don't get caught up too much in "having a good index." Ultimately you should rely less on an index during the exam and more on what you know. If you don't know the material well enough that you need to constantly refer to an index, you need to study more.
