Sonicwall or Ruckus for home network?

Macpro76Macpro76 Member Posts: 79 ■■□□□□□□□□
I am building a condo and am looking into a full on network installation for it.
I am having shielded cat6a and a patch panel and 2 ports in each room installed.
For wireless access, I have set up Sonicwall Appliances and Sonic APs before, but never had a chance with Ruckus.

Which one would be the better choice? I dont want to pay for 'yearly' maintenance fees after the 1st year...but want the ability to learn one system completely and master it.

Which one would you choose, why?

Thanx.

What's wrong with Cisco access points? You can get 1242's pretty cheap on ebay.

Sonicwall? nah.. dont pick that... they arent good with wifi
If you gonna pick something pick Rukus.
I would recomment an Aruba Instant...

It has lifetime warranty. So you don t need to pay for maintanaince after the first year....
If the product dies then you can open a support case for an RMA and they will replace it.

    Cheers

Ruckus is an awesome wireless solution. Simple, cheap, and reliable.

Ubiquiti are lower end without some of the bells and whistles, but are fairly easy to set up, and dirt cheap.

I can't speak to the cost differences, but I would also recommend Aruba Instant or Ruckus.

Look for your own experience, don´t waste your time asking to It "experts". Price could be a waste of time. RUCKUS work just fine, sonicwall too (this product have a dell backup) Aruba can be another option to test in hard field.

I used Ubiquiti to add wireless to a 24,000sf production shop. Price was my only real concern and the whole thing was under $500.

    Ruckus if budget is tighter.
Have some wiggle room look at IAP-105 (Aruba) on ebay
