Sim Comparison
I have never used GNS3 (sp?), but when attending Cisco Network Academy I used PacketTracer.
Is it similar and/or can I just use PacketTracer for my CCNP studies?

It is somewhat similar, but not really the same. Packet Tracer does not support the capabilities needed for CCNP.An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made. -

Note that GNS3 does not support Switching for CCNP and you are better off using real hardware for this.Follow my CCDE journey at www.routingnull0.com
