DNS question

Could someone please help me with this? I have a DC controller and a member server setup as a test lab. DNS service is instaleed on both servers; the DC is an integrated AD zone and the member server is a secondary zone taking its zone transfer from the DC. However, no host A records exist for the member server on either servers zones!how can this be? Maybe im jus not understanding this but i assumed that they would be automatically inserted into the forward lookup zone on the DC when it connected to the domain?

Do you have Zone Transfers disabled? Check the Properties > Zone Transfer tab to make sure "Allow zone transfers" is checked and the member server is allowed.

Yeah the zone transfers is enabled and appears to happen fine with the exception of the memeber servers host A records. I cant seem to figure it out. Thing is, i can ping by both name and IP address and it is succesful but there jus isnt any record!!Pretty confusing

Thanks Spudnik that certanily did help, it turned out to be a configuration error!!
