Data Plane Control Plane RIB FIB and LIB

Here guys, here is what I understand. correct me if I am wrong. I think I am wrong

Layer 3: Control plane (routing protocols) and RIB

Layer 2: Data plane and LIB.

How does FIB fit in?
I dont really understand.

    Its not really Layer 2 vs Layer 3, but for routing RIB is in the control plane and FIB in the data plane. For MPLS LIB will be in the control plane and LFIB in the data plane.
