vSphere ICM or Fast Track the best for VCP5-DCV prep?

I'm getting a little confused with how much information is out there. I'm primarily a Linux engineer, but a new requirement at my work requires me to learn VMware and obtain a VCP5.

I was going to register for the fast track (paid by employer) simply because it includes the exam voucher and I figured it covered everything for the exam. We only use vSphere Standard though, so the ICM would probably be more beneficial in my day-to-day tasks. The certification is a requirement I must meet regardless.

Does the ICM course cover everything that the VCP-510 exam tests on, or is the Fast Track really the way to go?

Fast Track is the training that closest matches the exam objectives - compare the course datasheets against the exam blueprint and you'll see what I mean. It covers everything in ICM and a lot more on top.

Thanks. That is what I figured. I just was thinking that the ICM would give me a little more breathing room and focus on what I really need to learn. Plus I was reading a lot of threads where people took the ICM in prep for the exam.

Most people take the ICM course due to it being cheaper. If your employer is paying for it and doesn't mind the increased cost, then by all means, Fast Track is always the way to go.
