Is MTA a requirement for MTCS

Hello people, I'm interested in taking an MTCS certification (ex: 70 483 to be specific) and I'm not clear if MTA is a requirement for the MTCS exam.

As per the MSFT certification site:

"Q.Is MTA a required prerequisite for MCSA or MCSD?
A.
No, MTA is not required. MTA is for people new to technology and who need to validate their knowledge of fundamental concepts before moving on to certifications such as MCSA and MCSD."

Sounds like you can just bypass all the MTA stuff and dig right into C#!
