Taking leave of absence from WGU?

Hey all, I want to ask any current or former WGU students on their experiences with taking a leave of absence from WGU and if they even allow that?
A loved one of mine just passed away and I will need to take some time off school to attend to more important matters. Does anyone know if WGU allows bereavement leave or any other kind of leave of absence or even term extension? My current term ends March 1st and I won't be able to pass the rest of my classes by then.
I think I recall someone saying you can take a leave of absence in between terms? That sound familiar to anyone? I plan on calling student services and seeing what they have to say but want to hear real experiences from other students. Thanks.

If at all possible, I would suggest working closely with your mentor to see if you can get by temporarily with adjustments to your learning plan.Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.
