First, I posted this in the "general certification" forum by mistake. Sorry for the repost - Ok, I have a BS in computer science. It's from 2000 though. I've worked in e-commerce ever since. I have a lot of knowledge in most aspects of e-commerce, from SEO, to PPC, to warehouse/fulfillment design. However, I recently moved to an area that seems to have no e-commerce jobs available. I did find a Help Desk Specialist opening at a great company. This would be a pretty big change for me obviously. What specific things should I brush up on to apply for this job? I can get an interview because I "know someone", but that just gets me an interview. What would be your suggestions on things to study/re-learn for this job? Here are the "Knowledge, Skills, Abilities" for the posting: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Proficient in Windows and Server Operating Systems
- Working knowledge of Mac and Linux
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals.
- Basic troubleshooting principles
- Strong customer service, phone, face-to-face and written communications skills. Professional demeanor.
- Strong time management skills, ability to organize and prioritize daily workload.
