Making Local users in to domain users???

Is there any way to take a local user and make them a domain user to where they still have access to there apps on the local system. I've tried copying there profile to a shared profile folder. Then creating a new domain user and pointing there profile path to the copied folder, assigning all permissions and then logging on to the domain as the domain user. Some programs will cease to work ie.. quickbooks, outlook stuff like that......anyone got any suggestions

Does Outlook connect to an Exchange server?

Can you provide more details about the setup/config? Is the local user from a 2000/XP client?

Just to test, try adding the domain user to the clients local power users or administrators group to see if it is really a permission related problem...

No the outlook doesn't connect to an exchange server, so I just re-routed where the email was being sent to. I also learned that quickbooks has to be run under an account with administrative privledges. But its all good now thanks for replying.
