DHCP process and Broadcast & Unicast

Dear Sir's .......i have one question about dhcp process communication as its mentioned in the book that DHCP process is as under, Client dhcp discover request = broadcast dhcp server offer =unicast client requst =broadcast dhcp ack =unicast my question is this that up to that time the client dont have ip address how dhcp server communicate to that speficic computer...??? because its understood that dhcp server is communicating to a specific computer so there is something on base of that they r communicating to each other...... Thanks

EdTheLad Member Posts: 2,111 ■■■■□□□□□□The client sends a dhcp discover, src mac local interface, dst mac ffff.ffff.ffff, src ip 0.0.0.0 dst ip 255.255.255.255.Networking, sometimes i love it, mostly i hate it.Its all about the $$$$
